 NAVARATHRI SPECIAL  - KESARI


 

 Ingredients 

 Rava - 1 cup 

Sugar -1/2 cup

 Salt - 1 pinch 

Cashewnut -1/4 cup

 Dry grapes - 1/4 cup 

Chopped almond - 1/4 cup

 Ghee - 1/2 cup 

Cardamon powder - 1 tsp 

Kesari colour - 1/4 tsp 

Water - 3 cups 

Method

 1.In a heated pan add 1 cup rava and roast it by maintaining medium flame. Rava should not be fried till colour change but the aroma should be coming out of it. 

2.Roast it for 5 to10 min once the rava is roasted move it to another plate and keep it aside. 

3.In a new heated pan add 1/2 cup ghee once the ghee melts add 1/4 cup cashew nuts roast it until golden brown and keep it aside. 

4.Add 1/4 cup dry grapes roast it and keep it aside. 

5.Add 1/4 cup almond roast it and keep it aside. 

6.In a kesari making pan add 3 cup of water and boil it.

 7.Add 1/4 tsp kesari colour. 

8.Now add 1/4 cup salt close the lid and keep it for a boil. 

9.Add the roasted rava and mix well. 

10.Add 1/2 cup sugar and mix and once the sugar starts melting it becomes watery keep mixing the rava and dont allow formation of any lumps .

 11.Now add 1 tsp cardamon powder and mix well . 

12.Finally add the roasted nuts and add 2 tbsp ghee and mix well . 

13.Delicious kesari is ready.
